164.

Hi y'all! I'm finally done school for the summer. Hallelujah. No more exams, boring lectures or papers. I am freeee! To celebrate we went out to dinner and I wore this fabulous dress I got from ASOS. It was beautiful today so I felt it was appropriate. I wanted to keep it simple so minimal accessories for this outfit. It was too hot to wear a cardigan as well! I've gotten comfortable with my arms the past few months so I'm happy to say that I dressed how I wanted without feeling insecure. I felt very "Mad Men" with my Derek Cardigan cat-eye glasses as well. I'm obsessed with glasses, I think I need an intervention. :(

Dress ASOS | Belt Thrifted | Wedges Coldwater Creek, borrowed from my mom's closet.

Well, since we're on the topic of dresses I might as well give my opinion on the dress. I love how it looks and feels. It runs true to size, but I feel like the dress is missing something... like lining? It feels cheap, the fabric. It's rough and not soft at all. It's cotton so it's breathable but I felt like I was wearing a very fancy table cloth - that's how the material felt like. I guess you can't tell by looking at it. That's my only gripe about it. I feel modest and I'm not mooning everyone with this dress which tends to be the case with a lot of ASOS dresses. This dress did not run short at all! All in all, it's a good price on sale right now for about $30 USD, so if you were wondering if you should take the plunge, do it! I give it 4/5 stars.

So see you next time! Now that I'm done school I have more time to write.

  1. So cute! I thought about this dress for a minute, but I don't tend to work well in warmer colors like orange and yellow. It looks awesome on you, though. Love the cut-out in the back

  2. Yeah. I think this dress would look awesome on a tanner skin tone or someone who can pull out warm colours. :( It's gorgeous though!
    Thank you!

  3. First of all, I adore this dress on you. Second of all, I did NOT know that this was on sale because it's not displayed when you click through the link to clearance dresses. Very interesting. But I found it and now I'm considering buying it. Bummer about there not being a lining though!

  4. Pro-tip: Don't look through the Curve section. Manually go through each section and just check off sizes UK 20 - 26. You will find stuff that didn't get listed on the Curve section for some bizarre reason.

I'm so glad you did a review on this dress. I've been eyeing it for about a month, but wasn't sure about the fit. It's really cute, and now that it's on sale, I might have to get it!

  6. That's so weird, there isn't an option to sort by size from the US site. I remember being able to do it on the older version before Curve even existed, but... yeah. Bummer.

  7. You do know there's absolutely no difference in price or anything on the US site? The US ASOS site sucks. It excludes a bunch of stuff there, haha. Try the UK site instead!

Look at me, enabling you. LOL. You don't have to do the complicated stuff on the UK site anymore. It's all listed on the Curve site.

  11. Yay, summer has come for you too! What are the plans?
And no, you don't need an intervention as long as the glasses look really nice on you, and these do.
As for ASOS dresses (or any kind of clothing item branded ASOS), most of the time I am unhappy with the material it was made from. I usually like the model but not the material. However this flower-y dress looks great on you and I couldn't tell it lacks something.
Damn those sushi photos... Now I will be daydreaming about eating sushi until the end of my workday. Sushi... yum.

  12. That dress is perfect on you! And I know this may be counter-productive, but did you have a look through Clearly Contacts recently? Their Canada Day sale is on and I don't think I'll be able to resist... Speaking of though, do you mind if I ask what your prescription is/which lenses you get from CC?

  13. Haha thanks!
I did look omg. I couldn't resist with $38 for a pair I REALLY wanted. I was even pondering ordering 3 for $99. Omg haha but I didn't.
I also got a free glasses giftcard in the mail, wtf bbq. haha. O_O

My prescription is -6.25 / -5.25 and I have astigmatism. I just take the standard and it's not too heavy for me. :) (The free one). If I feel I will wear the glasses a lot I take the UV/Anti-Reflective/Anti-Scratch combo.

  18. I used to hate glasses back in high school and college, but they're somewhat tolerable now. I think what i need is  a great pear of glasses to make me like wearing them.  I still have yet to find them. Wish me luck! I have to say that I prefer you in glasses although I have never seen you without.

  21. This is gorgeous! What size are you wearing here? I'm considering getting it as an option for a cocktail themed ball, not sure if it's too casual though. Thanks :)
