About the author:
Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Gazel (pronounced like Hazel but with a G! NOT GAZELLE!) and I am just your average university student living in the prairies of Canada. I'm studying sociology and I am very passionate about feminism, race, ethnicity, culture, and food (both in the foodie sense and academic sense, hehe.) Of course, my interest also lies in style and fashion. Outside of school I am a total introvert and I like to stay at home and read, draw, and play video games -- especially jRPGs! I also like to cook and bake as well.
I live with my fiance and 3 dogs. My fiance is the one who takes all of the pictures on this blog.
About the blog:
I started this blog because I was bored and I was feeling inspired by other plus size bloggers. At the time I was getting into fat acceptance and I was only starting to realise I can wear beyond just a baggy t-shirt and baggy jeans. Thus I needed a creative outlet for my outfits ... and before you know it, Bonjour Gazel was born. (On another note, there's no significant reason why I wanted to name it Bonjour Gazel -- I was thinking of Hello Kitty and Hello Gazel sounded stupid at the time so I decided to use French. NO, I'm not a Francophile, soz.)
In 2013 I decided to take a year long break from blogging. It wasn't fun anymore and I felt really crappy about myself at the time, combined with the stressors of school and work, I could not blog as much as I ideally wanted. I decided not to take the "quitting" route and just take a break. I wanted to re-launch with a new blog name representing the changes I've undergone while I stopped blogging.
GazelMa.com is a blog that features outfit posts by yours truly as well as (honest) reviews, wishlists, and just recently I've been making it a goal to implement recipes and restaurant reviews -- as well as blogging about other things besides consumerism and gluttony. I update sporadically and I do not have a schedule as this blog is purely a hobby activity and for my own amusement.
Unless otherwise stated, I have purchased all of the items on this blog. I do make an effort to point out if anything was sponsored or gifted to me. On occasion I will have sponsored posts and I will mark that down on the post itself. Regarding reviews, I do not sugar coat anything and my reviews and sponsored posts are 100% honest. I do pick and choose which things I take on to feature on my blog and what isn't. At times there will be things pertaining to shoes, jewelry, clothing, or even kitchen gadgets -- I feel these are relevant because this is what I blog about.
